Deralds' art career started when he left college studying design and illustration to build a business in screen printing. He managed the sales and design side of the business and grew the company from 12 employees to 120 over the years. 

Being a passionate fan of animation, Derald sold his interest in the company to buy his own Alias 3D system and start down the road of motion graphics, animation and VFX.  His efforts led him to CNN and then Turner Entertainment. After four years of working in television, Derald left Turner to explore VFX for film with Kleiser-Walczak and worked on film effects and ride film projects such as Xmen, Xmen 2 and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.

Derald returned to Turner and worked on thousands of projects as CG Supervisor and Creative Lead for Turner Studios delivering first in class graphics and VFX for TNT, TBS, TCM, Cartoon Network and Turner Sports to name a few and being awarded 4 Emmys, an Eddy and several Promax BDA awards as well as earning the title of Maya Master. Derald added new skills as he stepped up to supervise VFX for movies for Cartoon Network, like Ben10 Alien Swarm which was nominated for a VES award and LevelUp which spun off to series where Derald moved to Vancouver to on set supervise VFX for 26 episodes.
